RC shares the wealth in ODAC victory

SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College women's basketball team shared the wealth on both sides of the ball as they picked up a 63-48 ODAC win over Averett on Wednesday night.

Game Information

Roanoke (11-11, 5-8), Averett (6-15, 2-11)
Location: Salem, Va. (Cregger Center)

How It Happened

  • The sides jockeyed for position in the first quarter, but RC drained a handful of well-timed three pointers to start building a lead, ending the period 17-11.

  • The Maroons kept it going to start the second and then outscored Averett 15-5 in the final five minutes of the half to go into the break with a 35-20 advantage.

  • It was a closer second half as the teams traded baskets, but that combined with Roanoke's work in the first half was enough to earn them a 63-48 victory.

Notes and Notables

  • Ashley Fowler posted her third double-double of the campaign as she tallied 10 points and a team leading 11 rebounds.

  • Freshman Moriah Tate led the Maroons in scoring with 11 points. She now has double figure points in back-to-back games.

  • Tate's fellow freshman, Cecilia Robinson joined Fowler with double-digit rebounds in the contest. Robinson posted 10 rebounds and added seven points on the night.

  • Mariah Cain wasn't far behind with eight points, and she added seven boards.

  • Farmer tied her career high in assists, which she set last Wednesday, with six.

  • Fowler also led in steals with four, a new career high. She was followed closely by Snesarev who snatched three steals.
