The Short story: The Roanoke College men's basketball team used a dominating defensive effort Wednesday in a 77-34 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory at Shenandoah University.
The last time the Maroons held an opponent to 34 points or less was on Jan. 20, 2007 in a 91-34 win against Lynchburg. The 34 point-total is the fewest for a Maroon opponent since Hampden-Sydney managed to score just 33 in a 1956-57 game.
RC forced Shenandoah into 26 percent shooting (10-38) for the game and 18 percent (4-22) from three-point range.
How it happened:
*The Maroons started strong, opening a 12-1 lead in the first five minutes.
*Roanoke closed the half on a 7-0 run to take a commanding 45-15 edge at intermission.

Jackson Bell paced the Maroons with 13 points.

Marcus Morgan had 12 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Gavin O'Malley and
Tyler Barnes each had 10 points.

*Dorian Davis had a team-high nine points for Shenandoah (7-6/0-3).
