SALEM, Va. - Paige Breuer and Cecilia Robinson both hit double figure points as the Roanoke College women's basketball team got themselves back in the win column, defeating Randolph 50-40.

How It Happened 

• Both teams took time to settle into the game, but Roanoke were the ones to find their groove first. In the final five minutes, the Maroons outscored Randolph 8-2 to go up 12-5 going into the second quarter. 

• The sides exchanged blows in the second period, but the RC held steady to take a 28-17 lead into the half. 

• It was a low scoring third for both squads, but Randolph scored the final six points to cut Roanoke's led to 35-27. 

• RC grabbed the momentum with just under six minutes left and were able to come up with a few big plays on both ends of the floor to secure a 50-40 win. 

Notes and Notables 

• Paige Breuer topped the squad in scoring with 16 points on the evening. 

• Cecilia Robinson hit double digit points for the second time in her career with 12 in the contest. 

• Robinson also grabbed eight rebounds to led the Maroons in the category. 

• Nadia Snesarev dished out three assists in the game and was followed up by Alicea Farmer and Robinson who each had a pair. 

• Snesarev also had a team high four steals with Breuer right behind her with three. 

• Laila Staples had the only two blocks in the contest for Roanoke.
