SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College field hockey team battled in a back-and-forth game but were unable to find a goal as they were defeated by Rhodes College on Sunday.

How It Happened 

• With two minutes left in the third quarter, Rhodes was able to stroke home a rebound off the keeper to gain the advantage. 

Notes and Notables 

• The Maroons had the majority of possession in the first half and pressured hard in the fourth quarter but couldn't quite find their way into the arc to get shots off. 

• Corinne Orlando registered RC's lone shot in a 1v1 with the Rhodes keeper. 

• Roanoke had the advantage on penalty corners in the contest, 4-1. 

• Goalkeeper Chloe Miller made three saves on the afternoon.
