The Short Story: The Roanoke College women's soccer team led the majority of the game, but visiting Randolph-Macon College earned a 1-1 tie in non-conference action Wednesday.

How it happened:
*Less than a minute into the action sophomore Kacee Schmidt lofted a high shot from just outside the box that deflected over the keeper's outstretched hands and into the net. Irene Orndoff assisted on the tally 55 seconds into the contest.
*The Maroons held the 1-0 advantage until early in the second half. Roanoke was whistled for a foul inside the box and Yellow Jacket Alexa Stohr converted the ensuing penalty kick at 58:50.  

Inside the numbers:
*Roanoke fired 20 shots overall, R-MC had 15. The Yellow Jackets held an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.  
*Grace Suchy had five stops for the Maroons – Briton Warham stopped seven shots for Randolph-Macon (0-3-1).
*Brooke Nicholson took seven shots on the day, three on net.
