CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Roanoke College men's soccer squad finished out their weekend with a 1-0 win over Stevenson on Sunday.

How It Happened 

• In the 54th minute, Slate Danforth picked up a loose ball on the left side of the 18-yard box. He then turned the corner on his defender and put in a low, driven cross on the ground that Peyton Mancini ran onto from the right wing to bury in the bottom left corner. 

Notes and Notables 

• It is the first time since 2021 that the Maroons have won their first two games. 

• Since Ryan Pflugrad became the head coach in 2013, RC has now gone undefeated in their first two games in 10 of his 13 seasons. 

• Mancini's goal was the first of his career. 

• Danforth's assist was his first of the season and the fourth of his career. 

• Will Fatzinger, Ryan Pidgeon, Justin Hill, and Pacific Ibanzi each registered two shots a piece. 

• Denzel Marufu and Aidan McHugh each played 45 minutes in goal. Marufu did not have to make a save while McHugh made one. 

• Roanoke led in shots 15-10 and in shots on goal 5-1.
