Carsyn Michaels had five hits Saturday to lead the Roanoke College softball team to an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) doubleheader sweep of Guilford College finish the 2025 regular season.
The Maroons enter the ODAC Tournament with momentum, winning five of the last six games.
How it happened (Game 1):

Haleigh Vaughan smacked a three-run double to left center in the first but Guilford homered in the bottom of the first to make the score 3-2.
*A sacrifice fly from
Madison Cooke in the second and a double from Michaels in the third pushed the Roanoke lead to 5-2 and
Samantha Rice had a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Â
Inside the numbers (Game 1):

Lindsay Gedro settled down after the two-run first inning, keeping the Quakers off the board until the seventh frame.
*Michaels had two hits and
Kassidy Lancos and Courts each had a hit and a walk.
*
Aniyah Blake stole three bases.
*Kaley Mitchell and Morgan Singletary each had three hits for Guilford.
How it happened (Game 2):
*The Maroon offense scored three runs in the second, four in the third and two in the fourth.
*Michael and
Leah Butts each homered in the third frame. Â
Inside the numbers (Game 2):

Maggie McCray threw a complete-game shutout, striking out 12 over five innings and allowing just two hits and one walk. She went 2-3 at the plate with a double, two runs and two RBI.
*Michaels went 3-3 with three runs scored, a triple and a walk.
*Butts had two hits and three RBI and
Adriana Rivera also had two hits.
Up Next:
Roanoke finishes the regular season 20-20 with a 10-12 mark in the ODAC. The conference tournament begins next Saturday in the Moyer Complex, with the complete bracket and seedings to be released by the conference office later this weekend.
