WINCHESTER, Va. - The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team was taken down by Shenandoah in their final game of the regular season.

How It Happened 

• Roanoke book ended the quarter with Maddie McDonald tallying both the first and last goal of the period as the sides scored four each in the opening 15 minutes. 

• RC kept Shenandoah off the board for the first 10 minutes of the second while adding a tally from Raegan Becker. However, the Hornets scored three in the final five to take a 7-5 lead into the half. 

• Shenandoah took a 3-1 scoring advantage in the third to increase their advantage to four goals. 

• Roanoke tried to cut the deficit in the fourth, having the upper hand in scoring, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Hornets. 

Notes and Notables 

• Maddie McDonald and Raegan Becker had four goals each to lead the Maroons offensively. 

• Zoe Blair accounted for the other RC goal and she added an assist. 

• Sarah Brisson and Grace Koutouzis had two assists each to round out the point talliers. 

• Jordan Wheeler had a career high five ground balls in the game. Lili Riley wasn't far behind her with three.

This wraps the regular season for RC. The Maroons start postseason play next week and will host but still await an opponent for that game.
