Women's lacrosse claims another commanding victory

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team snagged another commanding victory over a conference opponent with their 20-3 win against Guilford.

How It Happened 

  • The Maroons had an efficient first quarter converting on 10 of their 12 shots to go up 10-0 after the first 15 minutes. 

  • RC then outscored the Quakers 5-1 in the second to make it 15-1 going into the half. 

  • Despite both sides scoring two goals in the third, Roanoke added three more unanswered tallies in the fourth to bring the score to final. 

Notes and Notables 

  • Maddie McDonald and Grace Koutouzis spearheaded the Roanoke offense yet again, combining for 11 points on the night. McDonald tallied five goals and an assist for a six points while Koutouzis added three goals and two assists. 

  • Reaginn Bingaman had herself a day on the defensive side of the ball racking up six ground balls and four caused turnovers. She tied her career high in ground balls and set a new career mark in caused turnovers in the contest. 

  • Zoe Blair was the only other player besides McDonald and Koutouzis to dish out multiple assists with her pair of helpers in addition to a goal. 

  • Tharaldson paced the squad in draw controls with nine, the highest total of her young career so far. 

  • Hadley Knapp recorded the first goal of her career in the fourth quarter. 

  • The Maroons outshot Guilford 37-7, had the 20-6 advantage in draw controls, and picked up 23 ground balls to GC's nine.
