Maroon men’s lax rolls to 23-4 win over Shenandoah

THE GAME FACTS
Score: Roanoke 23, Shenandoah 4

The Short Story: Three Maroons had hat tricks as the Roanoke College men's lacrosse team rolled to a 23-4 win Wednesday over visiting Shenandoah University in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup.

How it happened:
*Roanoke netted the game's first five goals, all by different players. Following an SU tally, Clayton Bewick posted his second goal of the game to put RC ahead 6-1 after one period.
*Six different players found the back of the net in a 6-1 second period, and the Maroons took a 12-2 lead at halftime.
*It was more of the same in the third, with Roanoke scoring five of the six goals, two from Patrick Cullen.
*The Maroons closed out the game by outscoring the Hornets 6-1 in the fourth quarter.
 
 Inside the numbers:
*Bewick, Cullen and Luke Kammerman all had hat tricks.
*Anthony Muniz had two goals and Wyatt Whitlow had a goal and two assists.
*Blake Rieger and Julian Kammerman each had a goal and an assist while Dell Vidunas, Quinn Evans, Aidan Landgraf, Nate Lucera, Anthony Schultz, Owen Ameo, Noah Bell, Jack Savoie and Matthew Albertson each scored.
*Weston Hammond forced three turnovers and had nine groundballs.
*Jake Brader won all eight of his face-off opportunities and had seven groundballs.
*Alex Feuer made 11 saves and allowed just three goals for a 78.6 save percentage.
*Dillon Bakhsh had two goals for Shenandoah (4-7/1-3 ODAC).

Next Time:
The Maroons (9-3/5-0) travel to the University of Lynchburg Saturday for an important Old Dominion Athletic Conference clash at 7 p.m.
