MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team was handed their first loss of the season by Mary Washington in a neutral site game on Thursday.

How It Happened 

• The sides exchanged two goals each but then Roanoke went on a four-goal run to make it 5-2 at the end of the first. 

• Mary Washington responded by outscoring RC 3-1, giving the Maroons a 6-5 advantage at the half. 

• The Eagles did more of the same in the fourth, leaving Roanoke in a two-goal deficit heading into the final quarter. 

• Only one goal was scored in the fourth quarter, and it was in favor of Mary Washington to bring the score to final. 

Notes and Notables 

• Maddie McDonald and Zoe Blair topped the team offensively with two points each. McDonald did so on two goals while Blair recorded a goal and an assist. 

• Sydney Harrison, Addison Widmer, Sydney Winpigler, and Raegan Becker tallied the other four goals for RC. 

• Reese Redford was the only other Roanoke player to tally a point. It was her first career point which she earned off her first career assist on Becker's goal. 

• Kendall Todd made a career high 14 saves in goal for the Maroons. 

• Mary Washington had the upper hand in shots (38-19) and draw controls (14-7) while both squads each picked up four ground balls.
