Mike Mitchell earned his 400
th career victory Saturday with a doubleheader sweep at Sweet Briar College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.
Mitchell came into the season with 387 wins and the Maroons now stand at 13-9 with a 4-2 mark in the ODAC.
How it happened (Game 1):

Mikayla Gilmore singled in the third to put RC ahead 1-0.
*The Maroons scored three insurance runs in the top of the sixth, but the Vixens tied the game with four in the bottom of the sixth.
*
Samantha Rice brought home the winning win with a single in the top of the eighth.
*
Baylee Compton induced a one-out double play grounder to end the game. Â
Inside the numbers (Game 1):
*
Erin Gorschboth had two hits for Roanoke.
*Gilmore,
Haleigh Vaughan and
Carsyn Michaels each had a hit and a walk and
Kassidy Lancos walked twice.
*
Maggie McCray struck out eight in five innings, giving up just two hits and two walks.
*Compton worked 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for the win, allowing no hits and no runs.
How it happened (Game 2):
*Lancos singled in a run as part of a two-run first frame.
*Gilmore,
Madison Cooke, Michaels and
Shaniya Lewis all hit RBI singles in the second as the Maroons went ahead 6-0.
*Cooke brought in another run with a single in the third to stop the Maroon scoring.
Inside the numbers (Game 2):
*Lindsay Gedro got the win, tossing five innings of one-run ball, allowing two hits and one walk with two strikeouts.
*Compton struck out three in her two innings out of the bullpen.
*Lancos was 3-3 with two walks and Cooke had two hits and two RBI.
