Joshua McClary earns second-team all-district and all-region honors

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College senior guard Joshua McClary earned two awards Tuesday, second-team District 6 honors by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and second-team Region 6 honors by D3hoops.com.

McClary, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Defensive Player of the Year, was also named to the All-ODAC first-team. In the ODAC, the Charlotte, N.C. native is fourth in scoring with 17.8 points a game, is second with 4.8 assists per game and first with 2.0 steals a game. He also ranks in six other ODAC statistical categories.

McClary finished his Roanoke career with 1,159 career points, 29th in school history. He ranks second all-time with 412 career assists and is eighth with 157 steals.

RC rallied from 18 points down in the NCAA Tournament's first round to post a 71-70 victory over Pfeiffer University. McClary knocked down two free throws with 2.6 seconds left to turn a one-point deficit into the winning margin. McClary was again the hero against No. 12 CNU in the second round, hitting a 15-foot jumper from the elbow with 4.4 seconds left to put RC ahead for good 77-75.

Roanoke finished the 2024-25 season 25-6, the most wins for the program since the 1993-94 season. The last time the Maroons reached the Sweet 16 was in the 1995-96 campaign.
