SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College baseball team were defeated in their matchup with #18 CNU to split the regular season series with the Captains.

How It Happened 

• It was 1-1 through the first five innings after but the Captains got to the relief staff in the sixth inning. CNU they went on to tally at least one run in the final four innings of the game. 

Notes and Notables 

• Mason Roy made his first start of the season and second appearance overall. Roy allowed just one walk in his two innings of work. 

• Freshman Danny Ferguson went 3-3 and drew a walk. He has hit .600 over his last three starts. 

• Liam Murphy, Tyler Galloway, Kyle Moshier, and Nate Prince accounted for the Maroons' other four hits in the game. 

• Justyn Steens tallied Roanoke's only run after scoring on a balk in the second innning.
