The Short Story: Dickinson College, ranked No. 14 by USILA this week, took an early 7-0 lead and went on to defeat the Roanoke College men's lacrosse team 14-6 Saturday in non-conference play.
 
How it happened:
*Dickinson netted the game's first seven goals before Wyatt Whitlow scored at 6:44 of the second period. Blake Rieger followed 32 seconds later with a man-up goal to cut the Red Devil lead to 7-2. Dickinson scored the next two goals to go ahead 9-2 at halftime.
*The Red Devils pushed the lead to 11-2 in the third before Whitlow posted his second goal of the game.
*Luke Kammerman scored from Whitlow with 5:47 left in the contest.
*Luca Docking and Patrick Cullen scored in the closing minutes.    
 
 Inside the numbers:
*Whitlow finished with two goals and an assist.
*Jack Savoie handed out two assists.
*Luke Kammerman tallied a goal and an assist.
*Logan O'Sullivan caused three turnovers and scooped three ground balls. Weston Hammond caused two turnovers and had four ground balls.
*Alex Feuer made 21 saves for the Maroons.
*Cullen Mulhern had three goals and an assist for Dickinson (2-1).

Roanoke (4-1) will face Grove City College Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a game played at Jacksonville University.
