FAYETTVILLE, N.C. - The Roanoke College baseball team fell to Methodist on Sunday to split the weekend series.

How It Happened 

• Ronoke opened the scoring in the first inning after Sam Scharville was hit by a pitch with bases loaded. 

• The Maroons added two more on in the fourth with and RBI double from Liam Murphy and a sac fly from Corey Coogan. 

• Methodist had a big eighth inning, scoring nine runs on nine hits. 

• Scharville drove in two more runs in the top of the ninth with a single. 
   

Notes and Notables 

• Owen Wojciechowski made the most of his first collegiate start, tossing six scoreless innings. He only allowed one hit while striking out five. 

• Sam Scharville led the team in RBIs with three. 

• Liam Murphy topped the team in hits with two. Tucker Schiavoni, Hayden Giordano, and Scharville were the other Maroons to register hits. 

• Jack Fehlner also registered two walks in the contest.
