VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Roanoke College women's basketball squad completed the season double over Virginia Wesleyan with a 68-56 road win on Saturday. 

The Maroons previously took down Virginia Wesleyan in January in Salem by a score of 68-52.

How It Happened 

• Roanoke jumped out to a 15-0 advantage in the first seven minutes of the game on their way to a 25-8 lead after the first. 

• RC kept the pedal to the metal in the second, taking as much as a 20-point lead twice. They went into the half up 41-22. 

• Virginia Wesleyan tried to work their way back in but the Maroons kept them at arms length with 52-36 lead heading in to the final ten minutes. 

• The Marlins kept pushing but timely scoring from Paige Breuer, Abigail Rice, and Mariah Cain helped seal the deal for Roanoke and bring it to the final of 68-56. 
   

Notes and Notables 

• Paige Breuer topped the team in scoring with 17 points. Mariah Cain also hit double digits with 13. 

• Peyton Kirchner and Alicea Farmer just missed double digits, tallying nine points each. 

• Breuer and Cain led the team in rebounds with seven each. 

• Nadia Snesarev tied a career high with her squad leading four steals in the game. 

• Ingrid Moraes played a career high 29 minutes in the contest, recording seven points, three steals, and three rebounds in that time. 

• Roanoke posted their second-best field goal percentage of the season at 49.1%.
