MARYVILLE, Tenn. - The Roanoke College baseball team dropped their mid-week road matchup with Maryville on Tuesday.

How It Happened 

• Maryville tagged the Maroons for five runs in the and another in the third to jump out to an early lead.  

• Roanoke then responded with four of their own in the top of the thanks to back-to-back homers from Hayden Giordano and Liam Murphy as well as a 2-RBI single from Tyler Galloway. 

• Maryville added five more tallies though between the fifth and sixth. 

• RC tried to mount their comeback in the top of the ninth, tacking on three runs, but it wasn't enough to pull out the win. 
   

Notes and Notables 

• Tyler Galloway led the way offensively with three hits and two RBIs. 

• Tucker Schiavoni, Giordano, and Murphy also had multi-hit games. 

• Kyle Moshier and Dylan Bonzon recorded the other two of Roanoke's 11 hits on the evening. 

• Murphy and Giordano's home runs were their first of the season. 

• Nick Capps made the first appearance of his collegiate career, pitching an inning and recording a strikeout.

The Maroons are set to play their home opener this weekend as they take on Dickinson in double-header action on Saturday (Feb. 22) and a single game on Sunday (Feb. 23). Games are slated to begin at 12:00 pm on Saturday at Salem Memorial Ballpark and at 11:00 am on Sunday.
