RC defeats Marymount 73-54; Clevenger named MVP

The Game Facts:
Score: No. 10 Roanoke 73, Marymount 54

The Short story:  The Roanoke College men's basketball team defeated Marymount University Saturday 73-54 in the title game of the 2025 Frankie Allen Tip-Off Classic Saturday, hosted by the Maroons in the Cregger Center.

Senior forward Patrick Clevenger was named the Classic MVP and junior forward Gavin O'Malley earned a spot on the All-Classic Team. Roanoke is ranked No. 10 in the first D3hoops.com poll of the season.  

How it happened:  
*Roanoke went ahead by nine (17-8) midway through a low-scoring first half, but the Saints used a12-2 run to take a 20-19 lead. RC regained the advantage 28-24 at intermission.
*The Maroons came out on fire in the second half, opening a 43-28 lead after a 15-4 surge, and led by at least eight the rest of the way.

Inside the numbers:
*Marcus Morgan scored a game-high 15 points with seven rebounds.
*Caleb Franze scored 14 with three assists. 
*O'Malley posted a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
*Porter Stanley had an efficient 12 points and five rebounds in 15 minutes on the court and Clevenger tallied seven points and nine rebounds.
*Anthoney McClary had team-highs of 12 points and five steals for Marymount (1-3).

Up Next:
