SALEM, Va. –
Kristin Hearp was recently named the assistant coach for the Roanoke College men's and women's golf teams.
Kristin brings a lifelong passion for the game of golf and a deep commitment to the growth of student-athletes both on and off the course. With years of experience in competitive play she focuses on fostering a positive team culture built on integrity, hard work, and continuous improvement.
The Virginia native earned all-state honors four years in a row for the Hidden Valley High School golf team and was named the team captain two years in a row, leading the team to its first ever state championship in 2014. She was a four-time member of the Roanoke Valley All-Metro golf team and was named the 2015 VSGA Player of the Year. She has multiple tournaments wins, including the Junior Valentine and Roanoke Valley Women's Hall of Fame. After a successful junior golf career, Hearp earned a golf scholarship to Virginia Tech and played there for four years, graduating with a marketing management degree from the Pamplin College of Business in 2020.
"I'm honored to join Roanoke College and to tackle this unique opportunity with Coach Will Abdi to help the men's team unlock their full potential and grow the new women's team into a notable program," said Hearp. "Golf has given me incredible experiences and life lessons, and I'm eager to mentor student-athletes pursue their goals and passion for the game."
Off the course, Kristin works as a Financial Professional at National Financial Services where she helps individuals and families build financial futures.
"Kristin coming on is going to be huge—not just for the women, but for the men as well," said head coach Will Abdi. "I'm super excited to work with her and learn from her experience at a Division I program. It'll be great to have someone to bounce ideas off of. Prepare to see a lot of big things coming from Roanoke College Golf."
