The Short Story: The Roanoke College men's golf 'B' team took first place at the Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial Monday and Tuesday, hosted by the Apprentice School.
RC finished tied with the Hampden-Sydney College 'C' team for first, where Brett Chodos won the extra playoff hole with a birdie.
The Maroons bettered their day-one score by 13 strokes Tuesday. The RC 'C' team took ninth.
Inside the numbers:
*Sean Hickey, competing with the 'C' team, tied for third overall with a two-day score of 147. He fired a one-under par 71 in the second round.
*Chodos and Chase Snyder led the 'B' team with 152 strokes each, tying for ninth. Chodos carded a 72 Monday while Snyder shot a 73 Tuesday.
*Dylan Lachaine tied for 15th with a 153 and Ryne Bond tied for 19th with a 155.
*Will Miele and Connor Boughton shot identical scores of 82 Monday and 76 Tuesday to tie for 27th.
