SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College field hockey team was unable to overcome Bridgewater as they fell in double overtime.

How It Happened 

• After a quiet first half, both sides pushed the envelope in the third and fourth quarters, but neither were able to find the back of the net. 

• Roanoke asked questions of the Bridgewater defense in the first overtime period, but they were able to fend off the attack and eventually finish an opportunity at the start of the second overtime. 

Notes and Notables 

• This was the second double overtime game of the week for the Maroons. 

• Maddy Holmes led the Maroons in shots with six, four of which were on target. 

• Kaitlyn Robertson, Katherine Seal, Ellemijn van Wijk, Elyse Cosgrave, and Brooke Garcia were the other Roanoek players to tally a shot. 

• While the Eagles had a slight advantage in shots, 12-11, RC had the upper hand in shots on goal 8-6. 

• Grayson Raiford recorded a defensive save in the contest. 

• Chloe Miller registered four saves in the game in her 70 minutes of goalkeeping.
