SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College field hockey team scored in the final six minutes of the game to take a 1-0 ODAC victory over Sweet Briar in the midweek.

How It Happened 

• With six minutes left in the game, the Maroons earned a penalty corner. Corinne Orlando put a ball into the air that Maddy Holmes batted down from the keeper and into the back of the net. 

Notes and Notables 

• Roanoke has now won back-to-back ODAC games after beating EMU this past Saturday. 

• The goal was Holmes' fourth of the season.

• Orlando's helper was her third assist of the season. She paces the team in the category. 

• Holmes topped the squad in shots with four while Orlando wasn't far behind at three.

• Ellemijn van Wijk and Kaitlyn Robertson were only other Maroons to register multiple shots in the contest. 

• Chloe Miller only had to make one save in goal for RC in her 60 minutes of work. 

• RC had the advantage in shots, 15-3, shots on goal 10-1, and penalty corners, 8-6.
