BUENA VISTA, Va. - The Roanoke College men's volleyball squad split their mid-week tri-match, winning against Averett 3-1 and dropping to #1 Southern Virginia. 
 
Game 1 Information 
Roanoke 3, Averett 1 
Records: Roanoke (5-2, 0-0), Averett (1-3, 0-0) 
Location: Buena Vista, Va. (Knight Arena) 

Game 1 Notes and Notables 

• After dropping the first set 25-22, Roanoke reversed the score in the second to make it 1-1. RC then went on to win the next two comfortably by scores of 25-11 and 25-15 to grab the win. 

• All 19 players on the roster made an appearance in the victory for the Maroons. 

• Pierce Faulcon topped the squad in kills with six. CJ Kingston was right behind him with five. 

• Gabe Fabbro and Teagan Cole both hit double-digit assists with 23 and 17 respectively. 

• Riley Coffren led the team in receptions with 16, recording a .941 reception percentage. Kingston backed him up with 11 receptions and tallied five digs.

#1 Southern Virginia 3, Roanoke 0 
Records: #1 Southern Virginia (5-0, 0-0), Roanoke (5-3, 0-0) 

Game 2 Notes and Notables 

• The Maroons couldn't overcome the top ranked Southern Virginia squad, falling in three. 

• Michael Cummins racked up the most kills for RC, recording six in the match. 

• CJ Kingston led in digs again with five. He also added four receptions. 

• Teagan Cole, Gabe Fabbro, Kaeden Noble, and Kingston all put up assists in the contest. 
   

Up Next 
RC heads to Asheville this weekend for a tri-match with Warren Wilson and Carolina University on Saturday (Feb.1). Those matches are set to be played at T.C. Roberson High School at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
