The Short Story: The Roanoke College women's soccer team played its second ranked team in as many days Sunday but fell 2-0 to No. 18 ranked Hardin-Simmons University (Texas) in the fourth and final game of the two-day Roanoke Invitational in Kerr Stadium.

The Maroons controlled much of the second half of play, and outshot the visitors 8-3 in the final 45 minutes, including a 4-1 edge in shots on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
*Hardin-Simmons got ahead early with two scores in the first 26 minutes of action.
*Caroline Burrow found the back of the net at 11:52 and Kaylee Maddox made it 2-0 at 25:41.

BY THE NUMBERS
*Sophomore Grace Suchy made six saves on the night.
*Jenna Russell made six stops for the Cowgirls (3-1-1).
