The Short Story: The Roanoke College women's soccer team had to settle for a 1-1 tie Thursday evening against visiting Southern Virginia University in non-conference action from Kerr Stadium.

The Maroons outshot the Knights 19-2 on the night, and had a 9-1 edge in shots on goal.

*Roanoke got on the scoreboard early, as graduate student MC Petrucelli converted a feed from Rebecca Carr just 6:48 into the game.
*SVU's Sydney Bastian tied the contest at 21:03, assisted by Nessie Story.  

By the numbers
*The Maroons led 6-1 in corner kicks.
*Katrina Gardner and Chloe Miller split time in net for SVU (0-3-2) and each made four saves.
