The Short Story: The Roanoke College women's soccer team had a 1-0 lead with 22 minutes left in the game Sunday, but Maryville College rallied for a 2-1 non-conference victory.

How it happened:
*Neither team found the back of the net in the game's first 45 minutes, but RC struck early in the second half.
*After a Maryville foul in the box, junior forward Brooke Nicholson converted the penalty kick at 56:07 to put the Maroons ahead 1-0.
*The Scots countered with a tally 12 minutes later from Madison McDonald, and Katie Corley posted the game winner at 72:58 after a corner kick.

Inside the numbers:
*Roanoke outshot Maryville 18-11 and the Scots had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
*Grace Suchy made three saves for RC.
*Sydney Mahr made one save to earn the victory for Maryville (2-1-3).
