Key Moment

  • Harrison Kraus scored in 65th minute to put the Maroons in front while the defense held strong in the remaining 25 minutes to secure the shutout victory.

How It Happened

  • After a scoreless back and forth first half, Roanoke broke through in the second half. Ryan Pidgeon found Jake Berecz on the right wing who sent a cross into the box. The Emory keeper parried the ball away, but Kraus was there to clean up the scraps and calmly finish the ball into the lower left corner.

  • The goal was the first of the season for Kraus and the 11th of his career.

  • Berecz and Pidgeon were credited with an assist on the goal, the first of the year for both players.

  • Kraus also led the team in shots, registering two on the afternoon. Berecz and Carlos Lomena also tallied a shot each.

  • Luca Gustafson made three saves during his 90 minutes in net for RC.
