The Lead: Brady Fowler competed in the preliminaries of the 200m at the NCAA Championship meet, finishing in 17th place overall.
 
Day One Highlights:

• Fowler, the school record holder in the event, clocked in at 21.40 seconds in Friday's preliminary rounds. He finished fifth in the first of three heats, and his time landed him in 17th place overall.
• The three heat winners and five next best times all moved on to Saturday's final. Sam Blaskowksi of Wisconsin-La Crosse led all qualifying times with a mark of 20.55 seconds.

Up Next: The NCAA championships resume in Myrtle Beach on Friday, with Fowler slated to race in the prelims of the 100m.
