The Short story: The Roanoke College baseball team split an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) doubleheader Sunday at No. 7 Shenandoah University, dropping the first game 3-2 but rebounding for a 7-3 win in game two.

The Maroons are tied for first place in the ODAC with Randolph-Macon College, each with 10-2 conference records.

How it happened:
*The Hornets scored a run in the first inning of the opener and held the 1-0 lead until the seventh frame.
*Senior shortstop Jonny Wall belted a two-run home run to left field in the top of the seventh after Dylan Bonzon led off with a single.

*The Hornets took an 1-0 lead in the third inning of game two but it didn't last long. Roanoke plated two in the fourth, one driven in on a Kyle Moshier double, and two in the sixth to take a 4-1 lead.
*After SU cut the advantage to 4-2 in the sixth, Hayden Giordano smacked a three-run long ball to left center.
