Roanoke Men’s Lacrosse Rolls to ODAC Win over Bridgewater

THE GAME FACTS

The Short Story: Luke Kammerman notched a career-high 11 points and surpassed 300 points for his career as the Maroons cruised to a 24-6 victory over the Eagles.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Roanoke jumped out to an early 6-1 lead. Kammerman was involved in five of those goals, scoring three and assisting on two others. The Maroons would hold a 7-2 advantage after the first quarter.
  • RC collected the first five markers of the second period, pushing the margin to double figures (12-2) on a goal from Sean Kennedy with 7:45 remaining. Roanoke stretched its lead to 15-4 by halftime.
  • The Maroons pulled away further in the second half, outscoring Bridgewater 7-0 in the third quarter and holding the Eagles off the board until the 3:01 mark of the final frame.
BY THE NUMBERS
  • Luke Kammerman totaled his 11 points on five goals and six assists. With 146 goals and 162 assists, he now has 308 career points, moving him up to third place in ODAC history. He is just the fourth men's lacrosse player in conference annals to amass 300 or more points.
  • The Maroons offered him plenty of support. Julian Kammerman tallied three goals and two assists, while Clayton Bewick and DJ Nolan also bagged hat tricks. Luca Docking contributed two goals and two assists, Wyatt Whitlow added two goals and one helper, Sean Kennedy scored two goals, and Quinn Evans recorded three assists.
  • Jake Brader won 17-of-28 faceoffs, while Jay Frye posted 10 ground balls and a pair of assists. Weston Hammond registered a game-high four caused turnovers, and Logan O'Sullivan had three takeaways.
  • Taylor Lewis played the first three quarters in goal, notching nine saves while yielding just four goals.
  • Trevor McClelland led the BC offense with two goals. Gabe Wallman logged 20 saves across 45:00 in goal.
  • Roanoke outshot the Eagles 74-34 and posted a 44-26 advantage in ground balls.
