Event: ODAC Outdoor Championship

The Lead: The Roanoke women's track & field team notched two second-place finishes and qualified athletes for the finals of multiple events on the opening day of the conference outdoor championship at Bridgewater.
Day One Highlights:
- Grace Fowler finished as the runner-up in the shot put with a distance of 12.22m, earning All-ODAC honors in the process.
- Kaitlyn Nguyen came in second in the high jump, logging a season-best mark of 1.65m to claim an additional all-conference citation.
- In the 3,000m steeplechase, Vendela Svaerd placed fourth with a personal-best time of 11:51.41.
- Fowler also scored for the Maroons in the hammer throw, coming in fourth at 44.56m. Sarah Fuchs finished seventh with a toss of 40.98m. Both marks were season-bests.
- Olivia Viers notched an eighth-place showing in the long jump, recording a mark of 5.19m.
- Mikayla Hefferon placed first in the preliminary rounds of the 400m, logging a time of 58.40 seconds. Haylee Gamble also qualified for Saturday's finals after finishing third in the prelims in 59.43 seconds.
- Gamble also advanced to the finals of the 200m, winning her heat and placing second overall in the prelims with a time of 25.59 seconds.
- A trio of Maroons qualified for the finals of the 100m hurdles. In prelim action, Rebecca Carr placed third in 15.07 seconds, followed by Cammi Winston in fifth (15.28) and Viers in seventh (15.30).
- Roanoke also sent three athletes through to the finals in the 400m hurdles. Ophelia Ladner came in third in the prelims in 1:05.63, with Lindsey Hobin placing fifth (1:06.58) and Winston finishing seventh (1:10.05).
- In the 100m prelims, Eleanor Hinckley placed sixth in 12.50 seconds, while Nalonda Henderson came in eighth in 12.52, with both athletes advancing to the finals.
- The Maroons currently sit in fifth place in the team standings with 29 points. Washington and Lee leads the pack with 53.5 points.
