The Short Story: The Roanoke women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision at Randolph-Macon in its final regular-season contest on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Yellow Jackets took a 2-1 lead through doubles play. Victoria Rios and Lia Streibich grabbed a point for the Maroons at the No. 2 rung, defeating Meckenzie Letellier and Katie Sarnowski 8-5.
- Camilla Thurman and Catherine Mowry beat Halle Fernstrum and Bella Gustafson 8-5 in the top doubles flight, while Emma Turner and Elizabeth Key topped Julia Bassett and Camryn Breedlove 8-3 at No. 3.
- Randolph-Macon claimed wins in four of the six singles matches, with some close competition and tight set scores up and down the ladder. Roanoke's victories came at No. 2, where Fernstrum outlasted Mowry 6-1, 5-7, 10-8; and at No. 3, where Gustafson fended off Letellier 6-3, 7-5.
- Elsewhere, Thurman clipped Streibich 6-3, 7-5 at No. 1, Sarnowksi knocked off Bassett 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4, Matty Grace Gilliam held off Rios 7-5, 6-3 at No. 5, and Becky Villeda defeated Sidney Wright 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6.
Up Next: The Maroons will await the seedings for the ODAC Tournament, which will be announced after the regular season wraps up on Saturday, April 27. The quarterfinals are slated for Wednesday, May 1.
