The Short Story: The 20th-ranked Roanoke men's lacrosse team used a balanced effort to record a commanding conference victory over the Quakers.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Maroons scored 10 of the game's first 11 goals and assumed a 10-2 advantage by the end of the first quarter. Luca Docking recorded all five of his points (three goals and two assists) in the opening frame as RC built up a large early lead.
  • After notching the final goal of the first period, Guilford also opened the scoring in the second stanza to pull within 10-3. But Roanoke responded with a 5-0 spurt to close out the half, heading into the break ahead 15-3.
  • The Maroons added runs of 5-0 in the third quarter and 4-0 in the fourth period to put the game even further out of reach, going on to improve to 6-0 in the ODAC and claim their sixth straight win overall.
BY THE NUMBERS
  • Quinn Evans matched Docking's 5-point tally, finishing the night with two goals and three assists. Dominic Cuomo booked a hat trick, Dell Vidunas totaled two goals and one assist, and Luke Kammerman registered one goal and two helpers.
  • Clayton Bewick, Noah Goad and Bryson Miller scored two goals apiece. Julian Kammerman and Wyatt Whitlow each notched one goal and one assist, and Anthony Muniz posted two assists.
  • Sixteen different Roanoke players scored in the game, and 21 Maroons registered at least one point.
  • Taylor Lewis played the first half in goal, making nine saves while allowing just three goals.
  • Brooks Klyver won 10-of-12 faceoffs and grabbed seven ground balls, while Jake Brader finished 10-of-15 at the dot with five ground balls. Jay Frye scooped up six ground balls and tallied an extra-man goal.
  • Andrew Burch led Guilford with one goal and two assists, while Collin Deese had one goal and one helper.
  • Roanoke compiled hefty advantages in shots (67-35), ground balls (49-23), and faceoffs (22-of-35).
