The Short story: The Roanoke College baseball team trailed 11-1 Tuesday and nearly came all the way back but fell 11-9 to Centenary University (N.J.) from Salem Memorial Ballpark.
How it happened:
* The Cyclones scored two in the first, one in the fourth and two in the fifth to go ahead 5-0 and brought home six runners in the sixth.
*The Maroons got back into the game with six runs of their own in the sixth frame, with the big blow a three-run double from
Tucker Schiavoni.

Kyle Moshier blasted a two-run home run to left field in the seventh to further cut into the Centenary lead. Â
*The Maroons had runners at first and second with one out in the ninth trailing by two, but had a runner caught stealing at third and the game ended on a called strike three.
