Roanoke Men’s Volleyball splits with #7 Juniata and Warren Wilson

The Short story: The Roanoke College men's volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday in the Cregger Center, falling to Juniata College before rolling over Warren Wilson College.

The Maroons battled Juniata, ranked No. 7 in NCAA Division III this week, to four sets in a Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) match before falling 24-26, 25-16, 25-20, 25-15. RC rolled in three sets over Warren Wilson 25-15, 25-21, 25-20 in non-conference play.

Inside the numbers (vs. Juniata):
*Leo Houser had 29 assists and seven digs.
*Michael Cummins posted 10 kills and six digs and Jackson Rutkowski had nine kills and six digs.
*Pierce Faulcon had seven kills while Colin Mendoza had six.
*Tyler Goldsborough had 23 kills, seven digs and three aces for Juniata (20-5/5-1 CVC) and Reese Ganter had 48 assists and seven digs.

Inside the numbers (vs. Warren Wilson):
*Cummins had 10 kills and no errors for a .588 hitting percentage to go with three aces. *Faulcon had six kills and five digs and Rutkowski had five kills.
*Gabe Fabbro handed out 18 assists while Davin Stevenson had 11.
*Xzaiver Dixson had six digs.
*Ian Nicholson had 13 kills and five digs for Warren Wilson (5-14).

*Roanoke (13-12/1-5 CVC) hosts Averett University Tuesday in the Maroons last home match of the season.
