The Short story: The Roanoke College men's basketball team took early control Saturday and breezed to a 78-54 victory over the University of Lynchburg in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
How it happened:
*Roanoke held the Hornets scoreless for the first 4:46 of the game and opened an 8-0 lead. The advantage remained around double figures for the rest of the half and
Zach Rosenthal drilled a three-pointer to put RC ahead 32-20 at intermission. The Maroons forced the Hornets into shooting just 27 percent (7-26) over the first 20 minutes.
*The Maroon defense again kept Lynchburg off the scoreboard for the first portion of the second half, this time for over four minutes. Roanoke built a 41-20 lead during that time and led by 20 or more points the final 8:31.

Joshua McClary totaled a game-high 17 points with six assists and three steals.

Marcus Morgan contributed 10 points and 12 rebounds and Rosenthal finished with 14 points.
