The Short story: It came down to the final possession, but the Roanoke College men's basketball team hung on to defeat Bridgewater College 73-72 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest Saturday afternoon in Nininger Hall.
How it happened:
*Bridgewater opened a 23-18 lead late in the first half, but the Maroons scored the last five points, capped by a three-pointer by
Joshua McClary with four seconds left, to tie the game at 23 heading into intermission.
*The game was again tied (39-39) at the 13-minute mark of the second half, before a 18-8 Maroon run let RC forge a 57-47 lead with just under eight minutes left. The Eagles cut the advantage to two late several times, and trailed 67-65 with two minutes remaining. McClary scored on the next two possessions to make it a six-point game and again Bridgewater rallied, but missed a three-pointer to tie as time wound down and tipped in the rebound at the buzzer.
Inside the numbers:

Zach Rosenthal netted a game-high 20 points, hitting 11-of-12 from the free-throw line.
*McClary had 16 points, four assists and two steals.

Justin Kuthan had his fifth double double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Joshua Morse had nine points and four rebounds and
Marcus Morgan had eight points and six rebounds.
*Alec Topper had 16 points and 15 rebounds for Bridgewater (15-8/8-6 ODAC).
