The Short story: The Roanoke College men's lacrosse team scored 11 of the first 12 goals of the game Saturday and rolled to a 23-6 win over visiting Pfeiffer University in non-conference play. Senior attack Wyatt Whitlow scored six times and added an assist to push Roanoke to 4-0 on the season.

How it happened:
*The Maroons led 2-1 and netted the next nine scores to take an 11-1 advantage early in the second period. After a goal from the Falcons, Roanoke scored three-straight, two from Whitlow, to take a 14-2 lead into halftime.
*The visitors had two of the first three goals after intermission, but four more Maroon scores made it a 15-goal game.
 
Inside the numbers:
*Noah Bell had three goals and two assists.
*Sean Kennedy had two goals and two assists and Luca Docking and Casey Laney each had two goals and one assist.
*Bryson Miller scored twice while Noah Goad and Luke Kammerman each had a goal and an assist.
*Alex Feuer made 15 stops in net.
*Roanoke held a 70-32 edge in shots and won 21-of-33 faceoffs. Jake Brader was 14-19 with seven groundballs and Jay Frye also nabbed seven groundballs.
*Oliver Buch had 19 saves for Pfeiffer (0-3) and Khyler Johnson and Trent Orr each scored twice.
