The Lead:Â The Roanoke baseball traveled to Atlanta for a trio of games this weekend. In game one, Oglethorpe used four early runs to take control and hold on for the 7-3 win. In game two, the Maroons would face Maryville for the third time this season. RC scored first but the Scots would rally to take a 4-2 edge. The lead would go back and forth until a three run seventh put the Maroons in front to stay as they picked up the 9-7 win over Maryville.
Highlights:
- Oglethorpe used a triple and pair of base hits to take a 4-0 lead after two innings of play.
- In the top of the fourth, Nate Prince got the Maroons on the board with an RBI double. Tucker Schiavoni drew a bases loaded walk to make it 4-2 and after a Stormy Petrel balk the deficit would be cut to a single run.
- Oglethorpe re-established the momentum with two runs in the sixth and another in the eighth to take the opener 7-3.
- Prince finished 1-2 with a run and an RBI as Roanoke would record just three hits. Jackson Murphy got the start going six innings giving up seven hits and six runs.

Highlights:
- The Maroons struck first with a pair of first inning runs when Prince walked to set the stage for a Schiavoni two-run home run.
- The Scots would take their first lead with two runs in the second followed by two more in the top of the third.
- The bottom of the fourth would see Corey Coogan single up the middle to plate Jonny Wall and then score on a Liam Murphy base hit. Murphy scored on a Nate Chown double down the left field line. RC made it a four-run frame on a balk to send Chown home and take a 6-4 edge.
- The Scots responded with three in the top of the next inning and then game would be 7-6 heading to the late innings.
- A couple of base hits to start the seventh would start the RC rally. Prince delivered an RBI single to tie the game. Schiavoni gave Roanoke the lead on a squeeze play and a Wall single would make it 9-7.
- Trevor Orth (win) and Jack Robinson (save) made the lead hold up by combining to pitch the final four innings without giving up a hit while striking out four.
- Prince went 2-4 with a pair of runs while Schiavoni finished 1-3 with three RBI. Murphy and Chown combined to go 4-7 with three runs and two RBI to lead Roanoke to their best offensive performance of the season.
