The Short Story: Roanoke rolled to a 29-0 victory over the Cougars in the Maroons' home and ODAC opener at Kerr Stadium.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Maroons wasted no time in taking control of the contest, netting seven goals in the first 5:35 of game time. Luca Docking and Luke Kammerman each scored three times during this stretch, and Docking assisted on two of Kammerman's tallies.
  • Roanoke grew its advantage to 13-0 by the end of the first quarter and led 20-0 at halftime.
  • The Maroons tacked on four more goals in the third period and five in the final frame in cruising to the lopsided victory.
BY THE NUMBERS
  • Docking finished with a game-high six points, totaling four goals and two assists. Luke Kammerman (four goals and one assist) and Noah Bell (three goals and two helpers) each notched five points.
  • Casey Lamey tallied four goals on the afternoon. Sean Kennedy bagged a hat trick, and Patrick Cullen finished with two goals and one assist.
  • Julian Kammerman added one goal and three assists, while Jay Frye, Anthony Muniz and Wyatt Whitlow chipped in one goal and one assist apiece. Quinn Evans recorded three assists.
  • Fifteen different Maroons scored in the game, and 21 different Roanoke players registered at least one point.
  • The Maroons held a 72-4 advantage in shots and a 54-9 edge in ground balls, and they also won 29-of-33 faceoffs. Jake Brader led the way for the faceoff unit, claiming 19-of-21 draws and scooping up 14 ground balls.
  • Cameron Prutzman played the first three quarters in goal for Averett and totaled 14 saves.
