The Lead: The Roanoke women's track & field team posted several impressive performances at the Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg.
Meet Highlights:
- Haylee Gamble set a personal record in the 200m with a time of 25.53. Her adjusted mark of 25.93 seconds is good for second place on the ODAC leaderboard. Lindsey Hobin finished eighth in 26.40 seconds, also a personal-best and the fifth-ranked time in the conference, while Eleanor Hinckley landed in ninth place at 26.59.
- Hobin also placed sixth in the 60m in 8.11 seconds, after she ran a season-best time of 8.08 in the prelims.
- Rebecca Carr finished sixth in the high jump with a leap of 1.53m. She also came in seventh in the 60m hurdles, logging a time of 9.87 seconds in the finals, but her prelim time of 9.00 seconds ranks third in the ODAC.
- Grace Fowler came in seventh in the weight throw with a distance of 15.66m.
- In the 400m, Mikayla Hefferon placed ninth with a season-best run of 1:00.79.
Up Next: Roanoke will play host to the ODAC indoor championship meet, which is set for next Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24-25, at Cregger Field House.
