The Lead: Haylee Gamble and
Kaitlyn Nguyen produced first-place performances for the Roanoke women's track & field team at the Joe LaRocco Invitational in Salem.
Meet Highlights:
- Nguyen won the high jump with a personal-record mark of 1.68m, narrowly missing out on a new school record and cementing her spot atop the ODAC standings for the winter. She is currently tied for sixth in Division III. Rebecca Carr placed fourth with a jump of 1.50m.
- Gamble took first in the 400m with a season-best time of 1:00.12, which leads the conference during the current indoor campaign. Lindsey Hobin finished in 1:01.05 to land in fourth place at the meet and third in the ODAC table.
- Grace Fowler produced two third-place performances, launching the shot put at 11.50m and recording a mark of 15.42m in the weight throw.
- In the 60m hurdles, Carr placed third with a personal-record time of 9.13 seconds, which also ranks as the third-fastest time in the ODAC this season. Cammi Winston finished sixth in 9.38 seconds, also a PR, while Hobin came in seventh at 9.67.
- Gamble ran a time of 26.35 seconds in the 200m, good for third overall.
- The Maroons' 4x400 relay team of Winston, Carr, McKenna Riolo and Lauren Connelly placed third in 4:27.76.
- Anna Stafford claimed fourth in the pole vault at 3.00m, while Tasha Miller finished sixth at 2.85m.
- Winston also notched a sixth-place showing in the triple jump with a season-best mark of 10.34m.
