The Short story: Despite a career-high 31 points from senior guard
Joshua McClary, the Roanoke College men's basketball team fell just short Wednesday night against No. 12 Hampden-Sydney College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
McClary drilled 8 of 10 three-pointers and posted 20 points in the second half. He added seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. Hampden-Sydney's Adam Brazil matched McClary with 31 points.
How it happened: Â
*Roanoke started the game on a 10-5 run, with five points each from McClary and
Marcus Morgan.
*The lead changed hands several times before the Tigers pulled ahead 42-35 at halftime.
*Roanoke scored the first six points of the second half and pulled ahead 55-54 with 13 minutes remaining.
*The Maroons held a 75-73 advantage with 3:55 left in the game, but HSC used a 9-0 run to take control. RC had a chance with 13 seconds left to pull within two but couldn't convert.
