ROANOKE, VA. - The Roanoke College women's basketball squad fell to Hollins University in ODAC play on Tuesday night.

How It Happened 

• Despite a very back and forth first, the Maroons carried the lead going into the second 10-9. 

• Hollins, however, made up ground before the half to take a 28-22 advantage at the break. 

• Hollins continued to take their opportunities in the third to bring the score to 44-29. 

• The Maroons found momentum in the final quarter, edging out Hollins 17-13, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficits of the middle quarters.  
     

Notes and Notables 

• Ashley Fowler topped the team in points and rebounds. The sophomore registered 10 points and eight rebounds in the game. 

• Alicea Farmer was right behind Fowler points-wise, totaling nine on the night. 

• Kirchner was second on the squad in rebounds, pulling down seven defensively for RC. 

• Mariah Cain had a team high three steals. 

• Ingrid Moraes came off the bench in the fourth quarter and went 3-4 to register the highest shooting percentage of the game for Roanoke.
