The Short story: The Roanoke College men's basketball team won its fifth-straight game Tuesday evening, 88-82 over visiting Randolph College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.

Senior Joshua McClary netted 16 of his team-high 24 points after intermission and added six rebounds on the night.

How it happened:  
*The WildCats opened a 21-16 lead nine minutes into the game, but the Maroons closed out the half strong to end the first 20 minutes ahead 41-38.
*Randolph used a 12-2 run to go ahead 50-43 in the first three minutes of the second half.
*The Maroons tied the game at 58-58 with 11:16 left but didn't take control until opening a 78-71 advantage with three minutes remaining.

Inside the numbers:
*Joshua Morse also had a big second half, scoring 11 of his 16 points in the final 20 minutes.
*Jackson Bell posted 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots.
*Clayton Gaither scored 11 points and tied for the game-high with seven rebounds.
*Marcus Morgan tallied eight points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
*Porter Stanley drilled a pair of three pointers and Ryan Truitt and Colin Fayed each had five points.
*Jordan Phillips-McLoyd scored 33 points with six assists for Randolph.
*The teams combined for 68 free throws. The Maroons shot 70 percent (30-43) from the charity stripe.
