The Short Story:
The Roanoke College women's soccer team fought back from a two-goal deficit on the road Saturday, but Virginia Wesleyan University scored two late tallies to win the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game 4-2.

How it happened
*The Marlins scored 11:06 into the game and took a 2-0 lead into halftime.
*Roanoke's Rebecca Carr made it a one-goal game in the game's 61st minute.
*Bree Fulkerson converted a penalty kick at 63:28 to even the score.
*Emma Shuey and Alexis Manfredi scored goals for VWU in the final 15 minutes.  

By the Numbers
*The Marlins had small edges in shots (14-12) and corner kicks (6-4).
*Grace Suchy made six saves for Roanoke.

Up next
Roanoke (4-10-4/4-4-2) enters the 2024 ODAC Tournament as the No. 8 seed and will travel to top-seeded Washington & Lee University on Tuesday. Game time has yet to be determined. The semifinals will be played on Friday with the title game on Sunday.
