Maroons draw at Shenandoah on Saturday night

WINCHESTER, VA. - The Roanoke College men's soccer team tied the Shenandoah University Hornets 2-2 on Saturday night in conference play.

How It Happened 

  • Michael Ramsey played a through ball to Ryan Pidgeon who sped past his defender and slotted the ball into the lower right corner. 

  • The Maroons doubled the lead just five minutes later when Slate Danforth cut a ball across the box to Ramsey who took a one-time finish to the lower right corner. 

  • Shenandoah scored on a breakaway in the 62nd minute to put them back in striking distance. 

  • Kyle Welch scored off a free kick with less than two minutes to go to even the score. 

Notes and Notables 

  • Michael Ramsey scored his team leading seventh goal in the match. 

  • Pidgeon's goal was his third of the year. 
     
  • Danforth's assist was his first of the season.

  • Pidgeon, Ramsey, and Carter Laatsch all tallied shots multiple shots in the contest.  

  • Goalkeeper Luca Gustafson made four saves in the game. 

Up Next 
Roanoke rounds out the regular season on Wednesday (Oct. 30) with an ODAC matchup against Bridgewater. That game is slated for the nightcap (7:30pm) of the day's triple-header action at Kerr Stadium.
