LEXINGTON, Va. - The Roanoke College men's soccer team fought it out to a 2-2 draw with the Washington & Lee Generals under the lights on Wednesday.

How It Happened 

• The Maroons struck first in the 30th minute. Jake Berecz sent a cross on the ground across the six-yard box that Kyle Butcher tapped past the W&L keeper. 

• Roanoke doubled their lead less than twenty minutes into the second half off a Quinn Kunath penalty kick. Freshman Peyton Mancini drew the Generals' keeper out of the net for the foul on a run into the box from his right back position. 

• Just three minutes later Washington and Lee answered back with a bicycle kick goal from Weyimi  Agbeyegbe to make it 2-1. Agbeyegbe then scored again with under two minutes on the clock to level the game.  

Notes and Notables 

• The Roanoke defense shined for most of the game, only allowing five shots on goal. 

• Butcher's goal was his first of the season and the third of his career. 

• Kunath's tally was his second on the year. 

• Berecz's dish to Butcher was his third assist of the year which is a new singles season high for the forward. 

• Ryan Pidgeon was the only RC player to take multiple shots with two. Harrison Kraus and Pacific Ibanzi also took shots in addition to the two goal scorers. 

• Goaltender Luca Gustafson made three saves in the match. 

• While the Maroons are fighting for much more, they are guaranteed a winning season at the very least with only two games remaining in the regular season.
