THE GAME FACTS

The Short Story: The Maroons put together another dominant performance at the Cregger Center, cruising to a 27-point win over visiting Eastern Mennonite.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Royals got on the board first with a pair of Jeriyah Osborne free throws, but Rose Sande put Roanoke ahead for good on a 3-pointer that made it 3-2 less than two minutes into the game.
  • The margin would quickly grow to double figures, swelling to 14-4 on a Lauren Keel bucket at the 4:36 mark, and the Maroons were ahead 26-8 by the end of the opening period. Sande tallied 11 points in the frame to help RC craft its lead.
  • Roanoke kept the momentum going into the second quarter, pushing its advantage to 43-15 on a basket from Madison Nereu with 4:35 to play and taking a 46-24 cushion into halftime.
  • Parker Childress and Peyton Kirchner connected on back-to-back triples to open the third quarter, giving the Maroons a 52-24 edge. Roanoke would lead by at least 20 points throughout the second half in collecting its fourth straight victory.
BY THE NUMBERS
  • Sande led all scorers with 19 points, sinking 4-of-10 attempts from three-point range. Keel finished with 16 points and nine rebounds.
  • Kate Littlejohn added 13 points, knocking down 4-of-8 three-point tries, while Nereu totaled 12 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Kirchner chipped in seven points, and Childress finished with six points and four assists.
  • Osborne scored 16 points to pace the Royals, and Kayla Surles added 12 markers.
  • Roanoke set a season-high for made 3-pointers, finishing 12-of-28 (42.9 percent) from long range. The Maroons also shot 12-of-15 from the foul line and outrebounded EMU 44-35.
